Overall, the food was comforting, approachable and extremely reliable. Chef Charlie Jones has his little twist and personality on most of the dishes without making them too edgy. I especially liked the beef tartare and the lamb shank, which was huge and extremely well-priced at 690THB. Unlike the predictable braised lamb shank, this one had a Northern African feel to it, seared, spice rubbed then slow-cooked with a gravy infused with dried fruit, the result reminded me of the heartwarming tagines I had in France. For me, Quince and Viva Thong Lo now sit at the same place in the Bangkok dining scene, a casual place where you can enjoy comforting dishes with a twist from a talented team, and at a price point that you can visit pretty regularly. #quince #quincebangkok #strangerfirstimpression #bangkokfoodies
