I personally dont think of myself as a food critic, i just write what i want and if im statisfy with the food for the price i pay then im happy with all that. However when it comes to Japanese Curry, thats a different level stuff we are talking about. Since I myself run a Japanese Curry restaurant Ive been trying many curry place from camp curry, freddie rice curry, midori and hinoya but i havnt manage to cover myself with all of the japanese curry restaurant in Bangkok yet. Just a quick explanation about jp curry, there are 2 types of jp curry from my understanding. 1st type is the indian curry that goes directly to jp, the curry has more spice and spicier than the 2nd type. the 2nd type of curry is the indian curry that went West first then to japan, this type of curry has a milder taste and often love by children since it is easier to eat. So im not a big fan of tv show and i dont know whos who even if i bump into some celeb in shopping mall and i think its kinda overated but yeah everyone on fb was talking about newly open I Am Curry by some guy from master chef (a show i never watched and probably never will). sadly bts aree is too far for me so ive waited patiently till they have deliverly via line. so the pork cutlet and deep fried shrimps looks good and for the price i have to say yeah its pretty cheap. taste perfectly good too so i have no complaint on this regards. moving on to curry part, from the looks of it and how the layer of oil is gathered at the top i wuicky notice this isnt jp curry, somewhat more similar to Northern style Hungle Curry. (my personal opinion is that since japanese curry uses alot of spice, if by any chance you like it more spice it should be other kind of spice not japanese ichimi spice). the rice looks good too. Well everything taste good except the curry. curry taste was kind of incomprehensible. i wasnt sure what i was eating, other curry place taste more of a curry but this one is more like some sort of liquid. maybe im exaggerating but thats what i felt. so the verdict, japanese curry is not something to be taken lightly. the price is pretty reasonable so im happy with it tho. :p
