มื้อเย็น

#Rettythailand I came here for the “Nabe Festival” (from now until 15 January 2018) and the December’s special menu. The “Spicy Kegani Nabe” was freaking awesome! And the “Unagi Hitsumabushi” was to-die-for… ● Spicy Kegani (Hairy Crab) Nabe – Tsubohachi has 4 kinds of Nabe for their special “Nabe Festival” menu, and also there’s Kegani Nabe in their normal menu. What makes this one special is that it’s spicy. And it’s oh-so-good! I like this much more than the normal nabe with mild and sweet soup. The spiciness is not too overpowering…and it was nowhere close to Thai Style “Tom Yum”. In fact the taste of the spices and dried chillis in the soup made me think of Sichuan food. And it complimented the nabe soup really well. ● Unagi Hitsumabushi – Another of my favourite dish from this meal. The Unagi was grilled to perfection, the sauce tasted perfect. And you can add the soup to the rice to make rice soup at the end. Yummy! I also ordered other dishes from their normal menu such as Zuwaigani Zukushi, Renkon Chips, Salmon Maki, and Yakisoba…They are pretty good. The sushi weren’t the best I’ve had…but compared to the price, they’re decent enough. Their No.1 dessert “Roll de Matcha”, however, didn’t suit my taste. I think next time I’should order some classic desserts like green tea ice cream and mochi instead. In short this is a good izakaya with a vast variety of Japanese food on their menu. Their specialties lies with the crab menu since they have it all – Taraba, Zuwai, Kegani. So when you’re in Thailand crave for Japanese food with crabs, Tsubohachi is the place to go. And if you find the Spicy Kegani Nabe (available in winter only) on the menu, don’t miss it!
