“Rong Si Rim Nam” is one of dining outlets in Lhong 1919, a riverside community mall restored from historic warehouses and a Chinese Shrine dating back to 18th century. With the ancient Chinese mural arts and architectural structure being carefully preserved, shops and restaurants here are beautifully designed to blend in with the original buildings - and “Rong Si Rim Nam” is no exception. Formerly the site of a rice mill sitting right at the riverfront, the interior is a mix of modern furniture and antique decorations, and the outdoor seating offers an unobstructed view of the Chao Phraya river. With the concept being “Authentic Thai Seafood”, the menu displays a vast variety of intense-flavored Thai food with good-quality materials and creative presentation. We tried “Steamed Crab Coconut Curry Paste Cooked in Mini Clay Pots” and “Southern Yellow Crab Curry with Betel Leaves & Butterfly Pea Vermicelli”. Both are quite delicious. Since this restaurant is affiliated with the famous ice cream brand “Iberry”, a refreshing sorbet is a nice way to end a delightful meal. My favorite flavor is Mango with Chili and Salt (and yes, there certainly is chili in the sorbet!).
