This is a small, independent cafe + roaster situated on Ramindra Soi 5, a big residential area north of Bangkok CBD. Run by husband-and-wife team of baristas, this place serves their own blend of coffees (mild, simple and strong, respectively on the range of roasting depths) that they curate from a trusted organic coffee plantation in Chiang Rai. Apart from the usual gourmet menu, they also serve cold brews infused with fruit jus of the day (such as roasted coconut juice, pommegranade or guava) or nitro coffee infused with orange zest (so good, super refreshing) and siphone-style coffee. Also available are selected beans from many different terriors, Thailand and beyond, for those who want more adventurous caffeine drive. Cozy and friendly vibe with jazzy and oldie tunes from classic turntable.

Now my favourite place to go meat-free, delicious and super satisfying. House of Joy serves Thai-style (read: spicy and strong flavoured) vegetarian/vegan dishes, juices and basic coffees. My favourites include their fresh soft tofu sauteed with olive oil (aroi mak mak), Pad Thai with mixed mushrooms and tofu, and spicy stir-fried rice vermicelli with Krached greens. The ambiance is relaxing and cozy, with a small outdoor terrace (complete with loud and natural cock-a-doodle-do), and the prices friendly. This building also has a co-working space, Thai massage parlor and a yoga studio. Full menu available on their website.

Bluetamp Specialty Coffee & All Day Brunch ลาดพร้าว คาเฟ่
Bright, glass-enclosed aquamarine-themed coffee shop + brunch spot. I would stick to the coffees, though, for they are decent and inexpensive compared to other places nearby. Also, the vibe is friendly enough, meaning not too high brow, despite its name bearing 'specialty' tagline. Small space, so avoid rush hours. Parking curbside.
